Fun!

Fun!.

Yesterday Tucker and I joined my friend Jacquelyn on the Shining Sea Bike Path in Falmouth , Ma.  The path itself is paved over railroad tracks, and it runs from North Falmouth , Ma all the way to Woods Hole.  If you like to walk, have a dog, bike, run, blade or have small kiddos, this is DEFINITELY the path for you!  The terrain is flat, and clean paved.  Tucker and I walked about 3 miles I would say and then turned around.  In the summer months this path has signs to suggest area businesses offering a pit stop ice cream, coffee or sandwich, as well as public restrooms.  Did I mention the view is spectacular?

This is a MUST do when enjoying the upper cape.

Protein Pancakes from HEAVEN

This morning I had some extra time, since we are observing Martin Luther King Day today.  I started off the day with a MUCH needed trip to the grocery store.  Recently, a brand new Market Basket opened up close to us and they have a great selection of all foods, organic, clean, and not.  Anyways, while at the market I bought the following ingredients for the BEST pancakes ever!

Protein Pancakes:

3 ripe bananas

1/4 c almond meal or flour

1/4 cup almond butter

1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

3 eggs

Puree all ingredients in the Ninja, or other blender and then start cooking 😉  I served them with a bit of maple syrup and sliced strawberries.  The batch i made, yielded 6 4 inch pancakes, so I can have more tomorrow 😉 YUMMY

Fitness

Fitness.

I started my bike riding career last spring at the Boston Brain Tumor Ride.  A great friend and colleague of mine was diagnosed with a rain brain tumor in the Summer of 2011.  Her tumor was removed in February of 2012, and her husband started a team to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.  The ride itself was tough, seeing that I have never ridden more than 10 miles before in my life!  I participated in the 50 mile portion, which was the longest length.  Perhaps my eyes were bigger than my legs could hand?  At least my heart was in the right place!  I ended up finishing the ride in just shy of four or so hours, which I was MORE than okay with (did I mention I did this on a fitness bike not a road bike. ouch ?!?!)

Anyways,  Since Sarah’s tumor is “rare” in nature, we are also able to participate in Sloan- Kettering’s Cycle for Survival.  This is an indoor and team-based cycling session , where the proceeds for to rare cancers of many varieties. Our team for this event is call “TEAM SASS” and we are halfway to our goal!  Feel free to click the link below to check out my page, and our team’s age for this event.  ANY donation amount is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,

Jeanie 😉
